About Tip-Top Cycles

Hello! Bike shop for all the down home bike enthusiasts out there - we will get your favorite bike ready to ride or build up the new one of your dreams. We also offer a selection of used bikes, accessories (and necessities) for the commuter, and a knowledgeable staff to help you with questions about home repair. We ride every single day and want to make it as easy, pleasant, and affordable for you to do the same.

A New Era

To everyone that we have met through the shop over the last few years, the time has come to bring things to a close here at Tip-Top Cycles. It has truly been a privilege to be a part of such a close and diverse community that welcomed our unique style of shop from the very beginning. Our friend and former colleague, Jourdi, has written a fond farewell that really captures the spirit of the shop. You can read it here http://jourdi.com/2014/02/17/ten-things-terrific-about-tiptop-cycles-2/

A heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported us along the way and to all those who bring awareness to the cycling community in Durham everyday. We’ll see you out there!

What’s been happening?

Well, we are embarking on the path of custom paint jobs. Discount rates during our experimental phase! (Inquire at the shop about specific jobs you have in mind)
